No. You create the account without a card and can send 10 emails and 5 SMS to your own number. After that, SMS needs a paid plan and prepaid credits.
What is the daily limit?
Each plan has a maximum number of sends per day: 500 on Launch, 1,500 on Starter and 5,000 on Growth. It protects your sender reputation from unexpected spikes.
Can I pay in USD?
Yes. Billing is in MZN or USD, with taxes itemised on the invoice. Currencies are never mixed on one invoice.
How many characters fit in an SMS?
Up to 160 units in GSM-7 or 70 in UCS-2. Longer messages use segments of 153 or 67 units, respectively. Some symbols and emojis use more than one unit. Each SMS uses 1 credit per recipient, regardless of the segment count. Check your text in the counter on the SMS page.
Where can I send SMS?
To Mozambican numbers (+258). Email works for any destination.
Why does WhatsApp have prices per country?
Meta charges each code by the country of the number receiving it. Our price is Meta's rate plus a fixed fee per code, deducted from your balance when the code is sent. We review prices every quarter, when Meta updates its rates. Codes WhatsApp can't deliver go back to your balance.
Is the WhatsApp balance the same as SMS?
No. WhatsApp has its own balance, in MZN or USD, topped up by M-Pesa or card. SMS credits and email plans stay separate.
